The child Ahmed Al-Mashharawi, a 7-year-old child, lives in the Gaza Strip, which suffered the scourge of war and siege. Since the outbreak of the last war on Gaza, Ahmed lost his father as a result of the bombing, leaving him an orphan at a very young age. His life was full of security and happiness among his small family, but the war changed everything.

After his father was martyred, Ahmed lived with his mother and siblings in very difficult circumstances. The suffering did not stop there, as their house was completely destroyed by the bombing, and they found themselves homeless. Currently, Ahmed suffers from the loss of his father and the difficulty of providing basic needs such as food, clothing, and even education.

Despite the pain, Ahmed remains an example of patience and strength in the face of difficult circumstances. His dream is as simple as any other child: to live a normal life, go to school, play with his friends, and find a safe shelter for him and his family.

Ahmed represents thousands of children in Gaza who are experiencing similar suffering, and shows how wars not only target infrastructure, but extend to destroying children’s lives and dreams.
