Kareem and the Hope of Life

In one of Gaza's areas, where people face the daily challenges of war and conflict, Kareem Abdel-Shafi Al-Shobaki was born. Kareem was twelve years old, but his heart was big enough to carry responsibilities beyond his age. Since he was little, Kareem learned that life in Gaza was unlike anywhere else and that he had to be strong to face the difficulties ahead.

Kareem lived with his parents and sisters in a simple house. Despite the tough conditions, Kareem always tried to be the pillar of his family. He had lost his father in a previous war and became the one responsible for the house. He helped his mother with everything she needed and took care of his younger siblings. His dream was to become a doctor so he could help people in his community and ease their pain.

One day, their neighborhood was heavily bombed. Everyone heard the powerful explosions that made everything around them shake. People panicked and ran to the shelters, but Kareem tried to calm his sisters and reassure them. "Don’t be afraid, everything will be okay. We are strong, and we will never lose hope," he kept saying with love and enthusiasm, trying to give them peace during those difficult moments.

While his family was in the shelter, Kareem kept thinking about his future. He dreamed of being able to contribute to changing the reality around him, not just being a witness to pain and suffering. Despite the war, Kareem continued his studies, reading whenever he had the time. He believed that education was the only way to change his life and his family's future for the better.

Days passed, and people slowly began returning to their lives, though many homes were destroyed. Kareem regained his determination and started helping to rebuild his house. Every time he looked at the debris around him, he felt a greater strength within, determined to become someone who could bring hope into the lives of others.

Kareem grew up, continued his studies, and became the doctor he had dreamed of. He used his knowledge to help others and always remembered the moments from his childhood when he carried such a big responsibility. He became a source of hope for those around him, contributing to improving many lives in his community.
