Anas Diya' Abdul Nasser Al-Haik: A Tragedy Beyond a Child's Strength
Anas Diya' Abdul Nasser Al-Haik, a 6-year-old child, endured a tragedy far beyond what any child should bear. In just a few days, he lost both of his parents in a brutal bombing that completely destroyed their home. Anas became alone, without a family, a home, or any support in this harsh world.
Now, Anas lives in a school that has been transformed into a shelter in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, north of Gaza, with hundreds of displaced families who have lost everything. Amid the chaos of pain and deprivation, Anas suffers from a lack of clothing, especially winter clothes, and is also facing severe shortages of adequate food.
Anas needs more than just temporary aid; he needs long-term sponsorship that guarantees him a minimum of a dignified life. A sponsorship that provides him with food, clothing, and the love he lost with the death of his parents.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "I and the sponsor of an orphan are like this in Paradise" (and he pointed with his two fingers). This makes taking care of Anas not only a humanitarian duty but also a religious one. Perhaps a hand will extend to ease his pain and give him hope for a better life in the midst of this darkness.
Anas is not just a sad story; he is a call to action to help every child who has lost the warmth of a family in the midst of this brutal war.
