Taqa Itqa Ihab Abdel Rahim Hamada: A Child’s Story of Survival and Loss
Taqa Itqa Ihab Abdel Rahim Hamada, a 13-year-old girl, carries an immense pain in her young heart that words cannot describe. She lost both of her parents and three of her siblings in a brutal bombing that targeted their residential apartment with no mercy, leaving behind rubble and destruction, taking with it her family and everything she had.
Taqa lived through one of the harshest moments of her life, as she remained trapped under the debris of her destroyed home for over 42 hours, hearing screams and fear fill the air, while rescue teams and civil defense were unable to reach her due to the continuous bombing. Her survival was nothing short of a miracle, but she emerged from the rubble with a broken life and deep pain.
Today, Taqa lives as an orphan, without shelter or support. She requires comprehensive care, not just to provide food and winter clothing, but also psychological support to help her overcome the trauma of this catastrophe that took away her family and her sense of security.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "I and the sponsor of an orphan are like this in Paradise" (and he pointed with his two fingers). Sponsoring a child like Taqa is not just a humanitarian obligation; it is a path to divine mercy. Providing care for a child like her means offering her a chance to heal and build a new future, away from the pain she has witnessed.
Taqa: More Than a Number in the Tragedy of War
Taqa is not just a number in the tragedy of war; she is a small soul who needs someone to restore hope and warmth to her in a harsh world that has torn apart her childhood. In the midst of unimaginable loss and suffering, she represents the countless innocent children who are caught in the crossfire of conflicts and who need the compassion, support, and care of those who can help rebuild their shattered lives.
Taqa’s story is a reminder that behind every statistic and every headline, there is a human being, a child, a life filled with dreams, hopes, and a future that should not be stolen by the cruelty of war. She, like many others, deserves a chance to heal and to regain the innocence that has been taken from her.
