Jaber Hamad Sarsour was a young boy growing up in Gaza, surrounded by the ongoing war that greatly affected his family’s life. Jaber loved life and dreamed of a better future, far from the pain and suffering he witnessed. He always aspired to become an engineer to build safe cities where children could live away from conflicts.

Despite his young age, Jaber took on many responsibilities at home, helping his mother care for his younger siblings. His family was very poor, but they were surrounded by love and hope. His mother did everything she could to provide for her children despite the tough circumstances.

One day, Gaza was hit by heavy airstrikes, and the bombing destroyed Jaber’s home. His father was martyred in the attack, and in an instant, Jaber lost everything. At the time of the bombing, Jaber was beside his father, and his life was shattered in a single moment.

After the incident, Jaber felt a deep sadness, but he remained strong and did not lose hope. Despite the tremendous shock he faced, his heart remained filled with hope for the future and a desire to fulfill his dream, no matter the hardships.

Jaber’s story is another example of the resilience of children in the face of war and how they carry the burdens of life even after losing their loved ones and safety.
