Anas was a child who had not yet turned one. He was born on October 7, the day the Gaza war began, a day when the city was filled with rockets and explosions. The atmosphere was filled with fear and destruction, yet he was the newborn who came into the world at such a difficult time, bringing hope to a family that had been living through hardship.

Anas’s father loved his family deeply, but on the day Anas was born, the war had already started in Gaza. Anas's father was lost in the course of the war and he never had the chance to see his son, whom he had long dreamed of meeting.

In those challenging moments, his father lost his life in one of the attacks. Even though Anas was born amid chaos and destruction, he never got to meet his father, as his father passed away before holding him in this world.

Days passed, and Anas’s mother lived with deep sorrow, but her heart was still filled with hope. Anas would cry in her arms, and every time, she would whisper in his ear, telling him about his father's bravery and deep love for them. She promised him that he would be proud of his father when he grew older and understood how much of a hero his father was.

Despite his young age, Anas lives with his mother's memories of his father as he grows older, he would understand that hope and resilience came from his father’s heart, who sacrificed his life for the country and the family.

Today, at one year old, Anas spends his days in his mother's arms, who instils in him the love of life and hope, despite the unhealing loss.
