Jannah, a small child not yet four years old, lives in Gaza amid the harsh conditions that many children in conflict zones face. Jannah had a peaceful life with her family, playing and laughing with her siblings. Her family was her source of happiness, and she dreamed of a bright future, playing with friends and studying to become whatever she wished.

But on October 7, her life and the lives of many families in Gaza turned upside down. On that day, the city was bombarded by planes, and many residential areas and vital facilities were attacked, including Jannah’s home. In an instant, Jannah lost everything: her home, her friends, and her father, who was martyred in one of the attacks.

After this tragic moment, Jannah and her family were forced to flee their destroyed homes and seek refuge in a displaced persons camp where they live under extremely difficult conditions. In the camp, they live in cramped tents, lacking even the most basic necessities like water and electricity. Their suffering is compounded by the lack of safety and basic services.

Despite losing everything, Jannah remains full of hope. She still wishes to return to the days when she could play with her friends. She continues to tell her mother that she wants to become a doctor or a teacher when she grows up, and she always says, "I will be strong like my mother," a symbol of the strength and determination that children show in times of war.

Jannah's story is one that is repeated for many children in conflict zones. It speaks of the pain of loss, but it also embodies the ongoing hope for a better tomorrow. Jannah represents the voice that needs to be heard, the voice of children who look to the future, but who urgently need support and assistance to fulfil their dreams in a world filled with peace.
