The Rapid Response Team of "Soul of Souls" Association Rescues Displaced People in Northern Gaza Camps Amid Tragic Conditions
As the world celebrates the arrival of the New Year with joy and hope, hundreds of displaced families in the northern Gaza camps are enduring harsh suffering due to heavy rains that flooded their tents, leaving them surrounded by water and mud.
The Rapid Response Team of "Ruh Al-Ruh" Association responded to the distress calls from affected residents, providing necessary aid to evacuate them from the submerged areas and offering alternative shelters and urgent relief supplies.
In a heartfelt statement, Mai Mohamed, one of the survivors of near-death circumstances, said: "We welcome the rain with hope, but it turns into tragedy and pain when our tents are flooded, and we lose everything. All we can do is pray to God for relief and a way out of this suffering."
A member of the team explained that the weather front caused widespread destruction to the fragile infrastructure in the camps, exacerbating the already dire living conditions of the residents. He stated: "The scene is heartbreaking, as we see children and women suffering from the freezing cold and the water that has engulfed their tents."
The association confirmed that relief efforts are ongoing in collaboration with local and international organizations to provide the necessary support for the displaced. It also called on the international community to take responsibility for the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
While the lights of celebration shine around the world, Gaza remains engulfed in darkness and suffering, with the hope that the new year may bring a glimmer of relief to those in distress.
